Don’t expect trades to fix the Winnipeg Jets
TSN: The Winnipeg Jets lost Connor Hellebuyck and are struggling. Darren Dreger said they have a defensive problem that Hellebuyck is able to cover up, and that there’s no quick trade fix and they have to fix it.
“No trade is going to help that. What might help is a players-only meeting, which they held after Monday’s loss to the Buffalo Sabers in Buffalo to reestablish a commitment to a better defense and the identity of the Winnipeg Jets.”

TSN: Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Laurent Brosoit has just completed double hip surgery and is currently undergoing AHL conditioning training. Chris Johnston said there’s no room for him in Chicago, but there will be some trade interest if all goes well.
“Brossoit’s agent, Ray Petkow, has been given permission to talk to other teams to see if there is interest. There are definitely some teams. They will be watching to see what he does when he returns to the AHL and he will be a goaltender in the near future.”
