People come to the exquisite McLemore Resort!

Of course, the movie took off, and Field of Dreams quotes, “If you build it, he will come.”
Such is the case at McLemore Resort, located in the Lookout Mountain region of northern Georgia.
In just one season, Claudeland at McLemore Resort has become one of the most popular destinations in the Southeast.
If you can, imagine this.
Perched high above the clouds (2,300 feet above sea level), McLemore offers a panoramic view of Lookout Mountain in the town of Rising Fawn, Georgia. That’s not even half of it!
How about 245 well-appointed guest rooms (including 21 suites), over 20,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service spa, a variety of dining options, and of course, a golf course?
The golf course is spectacular, with two championship courses (The Highlands and The Keep) and a 6-hole short course (The Cairn). The two 18-hole layouts were designed by Rees Jones and Bill Bergin and are ideal for mountain golf.
The Highland Course, which is par 71 and stretches to nearly 7,100 yards, features stunning views and vistas that require keen strategy to successfully navigate the landscape. That’s no easy feat when attention is at an all-time low due to the area’s landscape.
How good is the Highland Course? Golf Digest calls the 18th hole the best finishing hole in golf in 25 years!
The recently opened castle sits on the edge of the eastern cliffs of Lookout Mountain. Although not yet rated, Keep currently has a par of 72 and a length of 6,892 yards. Back when the course was being designed in 2021, Jones believed it “could host a major championship.” High praise from the US Open doctor, of course!
McLemore is not just about golf. Although indoor space is limited to 20,000 square feet, that’s nearly double that if you include outdoor event space. Featuring two ballrooms that can be divided into six different spaces, as well as four separate meeting rooms, the McLemore is perfect for any company that needs a spacious venue for their annual retreat.
Oh, there are many, many more.
A full-service spa and fitness center are available to all guests. Selah Wellness Retreat and Spa offers the highest level of serenity with treatments designed and customized for each individual. Don’t forget the fitness center is open 24 hours!
“Selah is a natural extension of the serene landscape that surrounds us, and Cloudland’s exceptional experiences are carefully curated to make you feel calm from the moment you check in,” said Mike Burton, general manager of Cloudland and McLemore resorts. “Our goal is to take you on a journey of total sensory relaxation and restore balance to your mind and spirit, using natural skincare and aromatherapy throughout your stay at Cloudland.”
There are many options when it comes to great food.
Inspired by McLemore’s Scottish heritage, Auld Alliance is a high-end gourmet restaurant offering stunning dishes from marinated duck breast to wood-fired pork chops, lamb chops and, of course, dry-aged bone-in rib-eye steaks. As always, you have to start your meal with foie gras “haggis” and a glass of whiskey.
The wine for dinner is a top-shelf wine from the spacious wine cellar, while the main course might be a delicious butterscotch crème brûlée with brandy apples and shortbread biscuits.
There’s more to McLemore’s cuisine than meets the eye.
The Croft Restaurant is suitable for casual guests and serves American cuisine with a delightful twist.
The Croft Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers simple menu options. Whether it’s smoked salmon, biscuits and gravy or beef short rib hash, the breakfast menu has it all. Not to be outdone, lunch is also interesting, including smoked mac and cheese, blfgt (bacon, lettuce and fried green tomatoes) and the American staple Croft burger.
Dinner at Croft is also a good option. How about a thick-cut bacon appetizer, which features bourbon barrel sugar crust and candied jalapenos. Bison strips with asparagus and lingonberries make a wonderful main course.
Your last place to enjoy a meal is the Pocket Cafe. A very light breakfast with coffee, croissants or the fan favorite Sammie Breakfast Cookies!
After a morning round of golf or just a day off, it’s time to relax at Skyside. This is a pool that goes above and beyond, no pun intended. Yes, you can grab a snack and even a cocktail or two, but what about the view?
Someone may ask, how do we get to McLemore? Simple. Only 2 hours from Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham and Knoxville and 30 minutes from Chattanooga. So, “walk away.”
