Tommy Fleetwood tops 16 other golfers in new 2025 rankings

World No. 1 Scotty Scheffler has won six times on the PGA Tour in 2025, while Masters champion Rory McIlroy has three wins.

That didn’t leave much up for grabs for the rest of the tour, but at least 17 winners lifted the trophy for the first time.

How do they rank? What are the prospects for them to shine again in 2026 and beyond? Let’s take a look.

1. Tommy Fleetwood

Achievements until 2025: Seven-time DP World Tour winner, regular major championship contender and Ryder Cup star.

2025 performance: The Briton had six top-five finishes on the PGA Tour through the final week of August, but victory remained elusive. He then smashed the year’s (and his career’s) record at the Tour Championship, hit it big again at the Ryder Cup, and later won at the DP World Tour.

Future Potential: Confidence and winning major championships are the only things lacking in his resume and he is more than capable of adding to that.

2. Cameron Young

Achievements until 2025: 11 top-three finishes on the PGA and DP World Tours, but no wins.

2025 performance: A win at the Wyndham Championship, a stellar performance in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and a stunning Ryder Cup debut (he’s tied as top scorer with Team USA).

Future potential: He’s a top-10 prospect in the majors six times — a number that’s expected to rise.

3.Ben Griffin

Achievements before 2025: Winner of the Canadian Division III Tour in 2018. He briefly gave up professional golf before sponsors urged him to reconsider.

2025 Performance: Won the Zurich Classic Pairs with Andrew Novak in April, the Charles Schwab Challenge alone in May, and the WWT Championship in November, during which time he had two top-10 finishes in majors and made his Ryder Cup debut.

Future potential: Popular, talented, and now free to express yourself. Looking forward to more wins.

4.Lee Minwoo

Achievements until 2025: Three-time DP World Tour winner.

2025 performance: The Australian gave up half of his lead at The Players Championship, then won the Houston Open in his next event.

Future Potential: Potentially more wins, especially if he improves his offensive work.

5. Ryan Fox

Achievements until 2025: Four DP World Tour titles, including the 2023 BMW PGA Championship.

2025 performance: Win the Myrtle Beach Classic in May and the Canadian Open play-in in June.

Future potential: Everyone in golf hopes the popular New Zealander will make the 2026 Presidents Cup team.

6. Thomas Detry

Achievements until 2025: The Belgian is runner-up eight times on the DP World and PGA Tours.

2025 performance: Beat Duck in stunning fashion by seven strokes at the Phoenix Open in February.

Future potential: Solid but unspectacular performance after winning, but four top-15s in majors, impressive late 2023 and 2024 Olympics.

7. Sami Valimaki

Achievements until 2025: Two DP World Tour titles.

2025 Performance: The Finn needed a big fall to finish second at the WWT Championship and win at the RSM Classic.

Future potential: His best PGA Tour golf performances came in free-scoring events.

8. Aldrich Potgett

Achievements before 2025: Win the 2022 British Amateur Championship and start 2024 with 59 wins on the Korn Ferry Tour.

2025 performance: 2nd at the Mexico Open and won the Rocket Classic in June.

Future potential: A huge batsman (he’s among the best in driving distance this year) and a huge hope for South Africa, but when he’s not hot, he can get very cold.

9. Michael Brennan

Achievements before 2025: A series of near misses on the third level Tour of the Americas.

2025 performance: The three-time America’s Tour winner was then invited to play in the Bank of Utah Championship, where he fought his way to victory.

Future potential: Another big favorite, many people have high hopes for him.

10. Andrew Novak

Achievements before 2025: He has not finished in the top three on the PGA Tour until November 2024.

Performance in 2025: From late November 2024 to late April 2025, he finished in the top three five times, culminating in a victory in the Zurich Classic Pairs with Ben Griffin.

Future potential: A poor final round record in contention held him back.

11. Ryan Gerrard

Achievements until 2025: KFT Winner 2024.

2025 performance: 2nd at Texas Open, then won Barracuda Championship.

Future Potential: The Strokes Gained Tee to Green ranked No. 28, showing he can keep going.

12. Brian Campbell

Achievements until 2025: KFT runner-up five times.

2025 Performance: Odd wins at both the Mexican Open and John Deere Classic.

Future Potential: He’s a short hitter but doesn’t fare well on big pitches.

14. Adam Schenk

Achievements before 2025: Two runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour in 2023.

2025 performance: Mostly poor, then he won the Bermuda Championship with a one-handed putter!

Future potential: Those gremlins on the greens need to be dealt with.

16. William Moe

Achievements before 2025: 2024 KFT three-time runner-up.

2025 Performance: A stunning final round of 61 unexpectedly claimed the ISCO title in July.

15. Joe Highsmith

Achievements prior to 2025: 2022 Canadian Division III play-off defeat.

2025 Performance: Performed well at the Cognizant Classic in March, but ended the year with 11 top-60 finishes.

Future potential: Missed too many opportunities to make the cut at the PGA Tour level.

17. Steven Fisk

2025 performance: Breakout at Sanderson Farms Championship.

Future Potential: Another top 30 player on a major SG tee.
