LaMelo Ball quashes trade rumors after Yahoo report – Basketball Insider

Ball reacts quickly to speculation
LaMelo Ball met with reporters on Friday and directly addressed reports about his future in Charlotte. On Thursday, Yahoo Sports claimed that the Hornets star was “open to being traded” amid the team’s slow start. Ball almost immediately rejected the idea on social media. Later, he reiterated his stance in interviews with the media.
“He’d never heard me say anything like that,” Ball said. “The source is not me. So it’s disinformation, so you have to let him know. I really don’t like to comment on things, but when it gets too big, you have to say something.”
His comments leave no doubt as to how he feels about the current situation.
Ball confirms his commitment to Charlotte
When asked if he was satisfied with the Hornets, Ball answered without hesitation. “Yeah, I love being here,” he said. “I didn’t say anything [about wanting to be traded]. I just want to win, that’s all. That’s what we’re going to continue to do. “
His answer made it clear that he plans to continue focusing on helping Charlotte improve. Trade rumors often happen for star players on struggling teams, but Ball was quick to quash them.
“The source is not me. This is false information.”

Strong production through nine games
Despite Charlotte’s early struggles, Ball has been outstanding this season. He averaged 21.6 points, 9.6 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game. He shot 38.5% from the field and continued to dominate the offense as the team’s primary playmaker.
Charlotte is still struggling to find stability, but Ball’s performance gives the team a stable anchor. His performance remains one of the highlights of the Hornets’ efforts to climb the table.
