Dodgers select Ronan Kopp – MLB trade rumors

Dodgers select left-handed pitcher to contract Ronan Cope. It was the only action they took during Tuesday’s Title 5 protection period. Los Angeles has two openings on its 40-man roster and does not need to make corresponding changes.

Kopp, 23, is a reliever who pitches for Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City during the 2025 season. He combined for a 3.43 ERA in 57 2/3 innings. Kopp fanned 36 percent of opposing batters but walked nearly 17 percent of the opponents he faced. He has a mid-90s fastball and a cutter slider, both of which he uses almost equally in Triple-A.

In addition, the command problem on the left side is also obvious. Neither left-handed nor right-handed hitters could do much damage to Kopp, but they both reached the bases at around .350 while waiting for free passes. While he needs command, the Dodgers clearly think he’s talented enough to serve as bullpen depth in 2026. Alex Vecia, Tanner Scott, Justin Wrobleski, Jack Dreher and Anthony Banda As a left-handed reliever on the 40-man roster.
