Rockies announce they have acquired left-hander Brennan Bernardino From the Red Sox, the move was previously reported. They also optioned the lefty’s contract Wellington Herreraright-handed Gabriel Hughes and outfielders Sterling Thompson. Their 40-man roster starts today at 38, which means they need two spots to accommodate the four additions. They make room by designating first baseman Michael Tolia and right-handers Ryan Rolison for distribution.
