Tiger Woods watches Charlie Woods win state championship

Ever since Tiger Woods recently underwent surgery that has put his return to professional golf in doubt, any sighting of the 15-time major champion has made news. On Saturday, Woods was spotted for the first time since his latest surgery.
Although Woods appeared on the golf course with his son, Charlie Woods, this was not the PNC Championship, and the two have been competing live together on television for several years.
Instead, it was Charlie’s high school state championship, where the young Woods matched the lowest score of the final round to help his team win the championship.
Here’s what you need to know.
Charlie Woods’ team wins state title with Tiger watching
Woods, 16, is a junior at Benjamin School in Palm Beach and a rising star in junior golf.
Benjamin won the state title when Charlie was a freshman. Last year, Woods won the AJGA TaylorMade Invitational. He is ranked fourth in his class and ninth overall in the AJGA rankings.

Charlie shot 68, tying the lowest score of the round and finishing fourth in the individual competition.

Coach tells Elin Nordegren he dreams of Charlie Woods shooting 68
Charlie Woods shared a strange anecdote from Benjamin head coach Toby Habeck after his team’s win.

During the celebration at the Mission Inn, Habeck paid tribute to palm beach post He dreams of Charlie doing well in the final round.
Not only that, but he claimed that he met Charlie’s mother, Nordegren, at a hotel early that morning and told her about the dream.
“I had a dream. Twenty minutes before 7:00 this morning, I walked out of the hotel and Erin [Nordegren] Stand next to the bus. I looked at her and said, ‘I had a dream last night that Charlie was playing today. It’s either 68 or 67,” she looked at me and said, “I hope so, coach. “I said, ‘I’m telling you, this is going to happen,'” Habeck told the outlet palm beach post.
Haback finally got the number right.
Tiger Woods’ potential return, health
On October 11, Woods announced that he had undergone disc replacement surgery, the latest in a series of surgeries on his back.
Woods was last seen on television in early 2025 during TGL’s inaugural season. But in March, Tiger announced he had ruptured his left Achilles tendon. As a result, he missed the entire 2025 PGA Tour season.
In 2024, Woods participated in only five events, withdrawing or missing all events except the Masters, and finished 60th.
Woods made his first public appearance since his latest surgery in early November when he participated in a Bridgestone golf video shoot.
Tiger has not said when he plans to resume his professional golf career or provided a timetable for a return to competition. Woods usually plays with Charley at the PNC Championship in December, but the pair lost in a playoff last year.
The 2025 PNC Championship will be held from December 18-21 this year, so if Woods is fully recovered by then, he could be back there.
It’s much less likely that he would have made his first start at the 2025 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, which he hosted two weeks ago.
The next possible return pencil date is January 13, 2026. It was the start of the 2026 TGL season, and Woods tweeted that he would “play every game.”
I’ll be at every game! Looking forward to seeing you all at the home opener on January 13th. and @willlowerygolftake your hands away!

Whether that means Tiger will play or just watch remains to be seen.
Two possible dates for Tiger’s return are on the schedule: the 2026 Genesis Invitational (Feb. 19-22), which he hosts, and the 2026 Masters (April 9-12).
