Twins hire Keith Beauregard as hitting coach

The Twins are hiring Keith Beauregard as their new hitting coach, Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. He will succeed Matt Borgschulte, who holds the position through the 2025 season. Nightengale wrote that assistant hitting coaches Rayden Sierra and Trevor Amicone are expected to return to their original positions.

Beauregard jumped to the Twins after three seasons with a division rival. He served as the Tigers’ hitting coach from 2023-25. The 42-year-old previously served as the Dodgers’ college hitting coach and minor league hitting coach. His time on AJ Hinch’s staff was his first time in the major leagues. Beauregard serves as co-hitting coach alongside Michael Brdar, who will remain in the position for a fourth season in Detroit.

The Tigers hit .247/.316/.413 last season. They rank in the middle third of MLB in all three slash stats and rank 10th with 198 home runs. They rank 11th in scoring. Some of their batsmen such as Riley Green, Gleyber Torres, Javier Baez, Zach McKinstry) started well but fell apart in the second half.
