Infinitum praised for Q-SCHOOL course renovation – Golf News

INFINITUM once again underlined its reputation as one of Europe’s leading tournament venues, winning widespread praise from players, caddies and officials after hosting another memorable DP World Tour qualifying final.

The six-day event, taking place on Spain’s Gold Coast from November 7 to 12, brings together 156 players to compete over 108 holes on Hills and Lakes courses to compete for a spot on the 2026 DP World Tour.

Zander Lombard won this event, finishing 37 under par, 13 strokes ahead of his pursuers and setting a new INFINITUM Q-School record. Nineteen other players have also qualified for next year, including Eddie Pepperell, Mathew Baldwin, Adri Arnaus and Shabhankar Sharma.

This year’s event is the seventh time INFINITUM has held it, and it is also the first time in the three-year extension of its partnership with the DP World Tour. As the first professional event held on the new back nine holes of Hills, it is even more significant. The back nine reopened in September after a major redesign led by European golf design firm Dave Sampson.

The project represents the midpoint of a two-phase transformation of the award-winning golf and lifestyle resort, aiming to cement The Hills’ position as one of Europe’s leading championship venues.

The Lake District course underwent a lucrative upgrade last year and is now fully embedded to host the dramatic final two rounds.

Joaquín Mora Bertrán, deputy general manager of INFINITUM, said: “Q-School is the highlight of our golf calendar and an event that means a lot to everyone here.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the DP World Tour for allowing us to host this event again and to our outstanding greens maintenance team who work tirelessly to ensure both courses are in championship condition throughout the week. Their dedication and attention to detail are key to the success of this event.”

This year’s final is the seventh time INFINITUM has hosted it and the first time it has renewed its three-year partnership with DP World Tour.

Mike Stewart, Director of Qualifying Schools, said: “We would like to thank everyone at INFINITUM for hosting another excellent final qualifying event. Feedback from players and caddies has been extremely positive, particularly regarding the conditions and set-up of the Hills and Lakes courses.

“The recent improvements to the hill add another layer of quality to this world-class venue and we are delighted to continue our partnership with INFINITUM to host this important event in the golf calendar.”

In addition to its championship layout, INFINITUM continues to attract players and visitors from around the world with its award-winning beach club, contemporary cuisine and unique property portfolio – all set within the tranquil natural landscape of the Gold Coast.
