ATP Finals: Two spectators die from cardiac arrest in Turin

The Italian Tennis Federation (FITP) and the ATP have confirmed that two spectators at the ATP Finals on Monday died from cardiac arrest.
The two men are aged 70 and 78 respectively and the incidents took place at different times at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
“The FITP and ATP express our deepest condolences following the tragic deaths of two spectators at the ATP Finals in Turin yesterday,” a joint statement said.
“Medical and emergency personnel on scene responded immediately to provide all possible assistance.
“Despite prompt intervention and subsequent transfer to hospital, unfortunately both men passed away.”
The first singles match of the day between Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti and American Taylor Fritz was postponed amid reports of a health condition in the crowd.
Large numbers of Italian fans turned out to support Musetti and defending champion Jannik Sinner on Monday.
The ATP Finals will be held on November 16 at a venue with a capacity of 12,000 people.
