The Prince’s Course Named ‘England: Golf Course of the Year’ at the 2025 Golf Course Awards – Golf News

Princes Golf Club has been named one of only four finalists for the 2025 Golf Course Awards ‘England: Golf Course of the Year’, recognizing the club’s ongoing commitment to excellence and continual improvement in all areas of its operations.

The nomination comes in a landmark year for the historic Sandwich Bay course, which hosted the Open Championship in 1932, and follows the R&A’s announcement that the Princes Course will host the 2030 Walker Cup, the return of world-class amateur golf to the Kent coast.

Since the launch of an ambitious redevelopment program in 2017, the Princes Course has undergone a significant and ongoing transformation of its 27-hole championship layout in partnership with renowned golf course architect Martin Ebert.

The piece enhances the strategy, aesthetics and playability of Coast, Dune and Himalayan loops.

This year the club has also completed a major refurbishment of the clubhouse and invested in upgraded hospitality and training facilities, due to be completed this winter, to ensure the visitor experience matches the quality of its championships.

“We are extremely proud to be ranked among the best clubs in England,” said Rob McGuirk, General Manager of Princes Golf Club. “This shortlisting is testament to the passion and hard work of our entire team.

Ongoing course development with Martin Ebert, facility improvements and the honor of hosting the 2030 Walker Cup reflect our determination to keep Prince Course evolving while respecting its unique heritage. “

The Golf Course of the Year Awards recognize clubs that set the standard in course presentation, innovation and overall visitor experience. The winners will be announced at the Golf Course Awards Ceremony in late 2025.
