3 different goal scorers lead Kraken to 3-1 win over Blackhawks – Hockey Writer – Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken host the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday, November 3rd in their first game of the season. Both teams lost their last games in overtime, so one of the teams will end their losing streak here. In the end, the Kraken team defeated the Blackhawks 3-1.

Kaapo Kakko hit a high stick on Connor Bedard in the first period, but Chicago was unable to capitalize on their one power play opportunity in the period. Both teams took ten shots each but failed to hit the target.
At 2:57, Chicago tried to clear the puck out of the Kraken’s offensive zone. Colton Dach tried to catch a pass but couldn’t catch it. Jamie Oleksiak skated from the blue line and picked up the loose puck. His shot sailed through traffic for Seattle’s first goal of the night.
Ryan Donato was pinned for tripping Mason Marchment at 7:28. Chandler Stephenson immediately won the faceoff and the puck found Vince Dunn at the blue line. He passed the ball to Elie Tolvanen on the right, who passed the ball to Jordan Eberle at the side of the net. He passed the ball to Marty Beniers. He fired a shot that sailed over Arvid Soderblom’s shoulder to give Seattle a two-goal lead.
Midway through the third period, Bedard stole the puck in the Kraken’s offensive zone. He broke through on Andre Burakovsky’s flank. As two Kraken players tried to guard Bedard, he passed the ball to Burakovsky. Taking advantage of an open opportunity in front of the net, he fired a shot past Joey Daccord.
With four minutes left in the game, Beniers knocked down Bedard’s puck in the neutral zone. Although Beniers took a tumble on the ice, Eberle quickly picked up the loose puck. He skated to the net to extend the Kraken’s lead to two goals again.
Next step
The two teams will resume play on Wednesday, November 5. The Kraken will close the homestand against the San Jose Sharks. The Blackhawks continue their road trip as they take on the Vancouver Canucks.
The two teams will face off again later this month when the Kraken travel to the United Center on Nov. 20.
