Pep Guardiola praises Liverpool for winning Premier League title
Guardiola spoke at a press conference after the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the semifinals of Man City 2-0, where Guardiola gave Liverpool a message of congratulations, while also sending hope that his hopes will challenge the championship next season.
“In my beginning, on behalf of myself and all the clubs, we want to congratulate Liverpool or their Premier League victory. It’s well deserved, no doubt.
“They are a great team. They will retain the title for a year and hopefully next season we can compete better until the end, which is impossible this season. So congratulations to Liverpool.”
It's certainly a tough season for Man City, although beating Crystal Palace in next month's FA Cup final will restore the pride of Guardiola and his team. There is no doubt that they will fight at the top of the next few years, especially in the upcoming summer transfer window, where there will be significant changes to their team.
But for now, they will focus on ensuring they qualify for Champions League in the top five in the Premier League as well.
