Free agency begins five days after the World Series. As it has in recent seasons, FanGraphs is once again promoting a contract crowdsourcing project, with the idea being to use the wisdom of the crowd to better understand and predict the 2025-26 free agency market.

In recent years, we’ve added features to these ballots based on reader feedback. You now have the option to indicate that a player will only receive a minor league contract, or not receive a contract at all. If a player has a player option, team option, or opt-out in his contract, you will be able to indicate whether you think he will stay with his current team or become a free agent. Where noted, numbers will be prorated throughout the season. Projected statistics and WAR data are from the first part of the 2026 ZiPS projections.

Here are the ballots for eight potential free agents this year — in this case, players who began their careers with affiliated teams before moving to the NPB or KBO and who could return to the MLB this winter. For more detailed scouting information, be sure to read their report on the board, as well as Eric Longenhagen and James Fagan’s recent articles on players who may be transferring from the Asian Pro League this offseason.
