Alex de Minaur qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals for the second consecutive season.
The 26-year-old reached the quarter-finals of the Rolex Paris Masters on Thursday, securing his place in the season finale in Turin.
Before De Minaur qualified last year, the most recent Australian to compete in the event was Lleyton Hewitt in 2004. Now, De Minaur will return to the Inalpi Arena for the second time.
The seventh Turin qualifier won his third career ATP 500 title in Washington this year, saving three championship points against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a dramatic final.
De Minaur also reached the final in Rotterdam and the semi-finals in Monte Carlo, Beijing and Vienna. He earned his 300th career Tour-level victory in Vienna.
The Australian leads the ATP Tour with 42 hard-court wins after defeating Karen Khachanov in the third round in Paris.
There is only one spot left in the year-end tournament, with Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz already qualifying. Lorenzo Musetti is currently ranked eighth heading into the PIF ATP Live event in Turin, 290 points behind Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadians advance to the quarterfinals in Paris.
