Another game, another final for Jannik Sinner.
The PIF ATP No. 2 swept Alex De Minaur 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday to advance to the championship match at the Bank One Open in Vienna. By reaching his eighth final this year, the Italian became the first since Novak Djokovic in 2015-16 to reach the final in back-to-back seasons.
Sinner reached the semifinals without encountering a break point in her first three matches at the ATP 500. Although the Italian lost serve twice against the Australian, he never panicked and went on to challenge second-seeded Alexander Zverev or fourth-seeded Lorenzo Musetti for the trophy.
It was always going to be a tough test for De Minaur, who has a 0-11 Lexus ATP head-to-head record against Sinner on the court. When the top seed broke in the first rematch of the match, it became clear that De Minaur had a mountain to climb.
The third seed hit some amazing shots and used his blazing speed to try to fend off Sinner and his ruthless power baseline game. But the Australian struggled to do enough damage with his serve, scoring just 52 percent of his first serve points, according to Infosys ATP statistics.
Without facing such pressure, Sinner was able to play freely and reach another final. He will add another trophy to his collection on Sunday after winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and Beijing Open this season.

Sinner reached the finals in 8 of the 10 races he participated in in 2025, with the only exceptions being Halle and Shanghai. The 24-year-old is also trying to keep alive his hopes of gaining ATP year-end No. 1 honors from the PIF, with Carlos Alcaraz firmly in control of the battle.
Sinner has not dropped a set in Vienna this year and currently has a 16-4 record in the tournament. He lifted the trophy in his most recent appearance in 2023.
