game review

The Blackhawks opened the scoring in the first period on a power-play goal from Ryan Donato. This is Donato’s second goal of the season.

Andre Burakovsky’s beautiful pass found Donato’s back goal for the goal. Defender Artyom Levshunov received a secondary assist, his second of the season.

The Blackhawks ended the first frame with another goal, this time from Tyler Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi got an assist from defender Sam Linzel for his first assist of the season. Linzel scored his first NHL goal on October 11 against the Montreal Canadiens.

The Canucks got one back in the second period, a power-play goal from Jake DeBrusk, who is celebrating his 29th birthday tonight. He was assisted by Connor Garland and Quinn Hughes.

The Canucks tied the game on a goal from Max Sasson, assisted by Filip Hronek and Linus Karlsson.

It was the Blackhawks in the first period and the Canucks in the second, even though Vancouver only had four shots on goal.

There was a problem with the penalty in the third quarter, and Bertuzzi’s goal was canceled due to interference. The Blackhawks challenged the decision but ultimately lost. But they stayed strong in the ensuing power play, which ultimately led to overtime.

As always, overtime was an exciting affair with a lot of back and forth. But no one scored, so the game went to penalties.

Unfortunately, Brock Boeser scored in the penalty shootout to help the Canucks win 3-2.
