Two-time major champion Xander Schauffele hopes to cap off a tough year in golf with a big win this week.
Things didn’t look good for the American Ryder Cup player after his first round at Yokohama Country Club, where he was forced to shoot even par in windy conditions. But his performance changed dramatically in the second round. Schauffele shot a perfect 63 to improve his score to 8 under.
That leaves him just four shots behind rising PGA Tour star Max Greyserman.
Americans Ryder Cooper and Collin Morikawa are four shots under heading into the third round, which opens to U.S. spectators on Friday night

In the second round of the 2025 Baycurrent, Xander Schauffele teed off 309 yards on the 344-yard par-4 13th hole and found a greenside bunker 37 yards from the hole. His 37-yard bunker shot landed on the green for an 11-foot, 8-inch putt, and he sank the birdie.
