NHL injuries: Bruins, Sabers, Blackhawks, Oilers, Wild, Devils, Rangers, Penguins and Golden Knights

Joe McDonald: Boston Bruins guard Hampus Lindholm left the game during the first quarter of last night’s game. He missed most of last season with a knee injury.

“It’s just a minor injury, not related to his old injury,” Sturm said. “We just want to make sure he’s OK. He’s going to be tested (Friday) and we’ll see.”

Heather Engel: Buffalo Sabers forward Josh Norris left the game with just over 15 minutes left in the third quarter of last night’s game. Coach Lindy Ruff: “He didn’t finish the game, so I would say that’s not a good sign.”

Forward Zach Benson was taken to the hospital Wednesday night with complications after being hit in the face by a puck during practice earlier Wednesday. After a brief absence, he did return to the clinic. Coach Love said he will be discharged from the hospital today and start daily training.

NHL Rumors: San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens

Defender Owen Ball missed last night’s game due to illness.

Joe McDonald: Chicago Blackhawks forward Jason Dickinson left last night’s game.

“I’ll know more tomorrow,” Brashear said. “No real updates yet. Obviously the game isn’t finished yet, so that’s not great. We’ll see where it goes.”

Jason Gregor: Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman has been placed on LTIR, and while there have been suggestions he could return before November, given the 10-game, 24-day LTIR rule, the first game he would be eligible to return would be Nov. 1. This will keep him out for 12 games.

Sarah McClellan: Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin missed last night’s game and is returning to daily practice. Coach Jon Hines said his return is imminent.

Amanda Stein: New Jersey Devils forward Stefan Noesen missed all of training camp and is traveling with the team. “He’s getting closer,” coach Sheldon Keefe said of Northam. “The closer he gets, the more we want to keep him on the ice, and when you can use more bodies and get him in your meetings, being with the team is the most important.”

Heather Engel: New York Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck left the game in the second period last night with an upper-body injury. No updates after the game.

  • Colin Stephenson: The Rangers canceled practice today, so there may not be an update today.
