Golf Business News – Bigga and R&A Featured 10 Green Guardians

The UK and International Golf Green Health Personnel Association (BIGGA) and R&A selected 10 ambitious and talented Green Guardians to support the tournament in their biggest tournament this year.
Ten Bigga members will join the home green task force for this summer’s R&A Championship, including 153road Royal Porthcawl opens in Royal Prothush and Aig Women's Open. Green Administrators will gain experience in Elite Championship preparation, working with the Family Green Task Force and the R&A’s Champion Agriculture Team.
Volunteers will be on site:
- 153road Open in Royal Prothush
- Sunningdale's Senior Open
- AIG Women's Open is located in Royal Porthcawl
- Amateur Champion of Royal St. George and Royal Cinque Terre
- Nain's Women's Amateur Champion
Select each member to participate in one of the championships, where they will be fully embedded in the home green goalkeeper team. The entire group will also hold an educational course in April at Royal Birkdale and will be invited to the Royal Prothush Open, where they will learn about course preparation and competitions for the big championship.
The R&A Champions Agriculture Program is the latest exclusive release of Bigga members, building on the existing exciting membership program, each designed to further promote the competence and skills of green feeding professionals.

- Adam Matthews, Minchinhampton Golf Club
- Jack Hall, Kilworth Thermal Springs Golf Club
- Dean Baily, Heswall Golf Club
- Bradley Taylor, Beau Desert Golf Club
Adam Newton, head of sustainable championship agronomy at R&A R&A said: “After an extensive application process, we have selected 10 impressive candidates who will gain in-depth knowledge of the championship agricultural champions and green stocks in some of our most prestigious R&A championships and will gain support for their future care workers in some of our unique educational experiences.
