Raptors beat Kings 130-122 behind Brandon Ingram

Ingram leads the way in Sacramento
The Toronto Raptors used Brandon Ingram’s performance to beat the Sacramento Kings 130-122 on Wednesday for their first win of the preseason. The forward scored 21 points on 7-for-15 shooting in just 23 minutes, while also adding six rebounds and three assists.
Ingram played with poise, control and zero turnovers to help Toronto recover from its first loss in Vancouver. His efficient night set the tone for a Raptors offense that looked balanced and aggressive from start to finish.
Bench provides spark
Rookie Jacoby Walter came off the bench and impressed with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. His quick energy and confident shooting helped Toronto maintain momentum whenever Sacramento threatened to mount a comeback.
Sophomore guard Grady Dick also showed growth, scoring 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting in just 15 minutes. His accuracy and movement off the ball remain encouraging signs for head coach Darko Rajakovic heading into the new season.
Kings stay competitive
For Sacramento, Domantas Sabonis was as efficient as ever, scoring a team-high 19 points and 4 rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting. Despite his performance, the Kings struggled to contain Toronto’s perimeter attack and transition attack.
Sacramento’s preseason rotation emphasized testing depth, with head coach Mike Brown experimenting with the lineup and giving younger players more playing time. The team’s offensive rhythm flashed, but its defensive execution was insufficient.
Toronto Eyes regular season opener
The Raptors lost to the Denver Nuggets 112-108 on Monday in Vancouver, but Wednesday’s win gave them some rhythm and confidence. Toronto is aiming to return to the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2022, and early performances like this show an encouraging sense of cohesion.
The Raptors will continue their preseason preparations before beginning the regular season on October 22 against the Hawks in Atlanta.
With Ingram leading the way and young players effectively contributing, Toronto appears motivated to re-establish itself as an Eastern Conference playoff contender.
