Game Preview

The Boston Celtics visited the Orlando Magic with a 2-0 lead in the first round of the Eastern Conference. C won the third straight win on Friday night after a home victory of 103-86 and 109-100 in Games 1 and 2.

Boston also won the second victory on Wednesday, despite Jaylen Brown’s knee flexion and Jayson Tatum’s bruises sitting on his right hand. The Veterans’ auxiliary cast has been strengthened, Derrick White scored 30 points in the first game and Kristaps Porzingis scored 20 points in the second game.

But Tatum is still suspicious of the third game after wrist pain prevents him from heating on Wednesday night. Jrue Holiday also added a Boston injury report; now he is being questioned for a sprained right hamstring.

Meanwhile, Orlando's Paolo Banchero hopes home court will help the Magic turn the trend in the series. At Kia Center, the Magic beat the Celtics twice in the regular season.

“You just have to keep fighting, man,” Benchero said. “It's two games. They did what they should do: beat us twice in their home. Now we have to go protecting our home floor. It's simple.”

The 0-2 series holes are familiar areas of magic. They fell twice in Cleveland in double figures to open last year’s playoffs and then rebounded with two blowout wins.

According to ESPN's basketball power index, the Celtics had a 66.5% chance to beat Orlando in Game 3. Boston was 9-1 in the last 10 road games, while the Magic were 10-5 in the last 15 games.
