“I don’t think these rumors are true. I do think Marty Necas is willing to re-sign in Colorado. But, I do think that pushes the numbers, which isn’t an exciting number. Colorado Avalanche is excited about that. Especially if Marty Necas goes out and there’s another Northern season in every game.

I mentioned this in my previous NHL Insider notebook on the BR app, once you get to that stage you can keep Rantanen for 12 or 11 and a half, or any number that ends up being there, you know, the gap between Necas and Rantanen, I think it’s bigger than those blocks hits.
So look, sometimes, when you roll the dice, that ends up happening. I’m not saying naturally won’t re-sign in Colorado. It’s just that it may have reached where they have to do something to keep going, because now, the Colorado avalanche is exactly the same as last year’s Marty Necas with Miko Rantanen.
