Torey Lovullo will return to D-Backs’ manager

The Rattlesnakes brought manager Torey Lovullo back to his tenth season, as Nick Piecoro of the Republic of Arizona reported. Lovullo signed a year after signing a contract extension shortly after winning the National League Championship in 2023.

Although the rattlesnakes are not managed, it seems they will leave Lovro in the lascivious duck setting. John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM reported that the 60-year-old Lovullo is not expected to sign an extension this offseason. Teams usually shirk away from having managers and top office staff expire deals, but it seems that leadership in Arizona is happy with such an arrangement that goes into 2026.

After the league title, in each of the two seasons, the D defender has no playoffs. The team won 89 games last year and ended outside on the last day of the season. They retreated 80-82 and ranked fourth in NL West this year. The Mets’ collapse helped keep the Rattlers mathematically alive until the final weekend, but they ended with their first loss season since 2022.

They significantly increased their spending in each of the last two winters. They focus most of their free agent activities on rotation. No deal Corbin Burnes,,,,, Eduardo Rodriguez or Jordan Montgomery Already exercised. These three pitchers are all certain combinations of invalid or injured. Snake signed each Ketel Marte,,,,, Brandon Pfaadt,,,,, Geraldo Perdomo and Justin Martinez Expanded last winter.

Owner Ken Kendrick told Gambadoro on Sunday that he “never felt disappointed in a season because (their) expectations were so high.” Kendrick extended the comment during a appearance on Burns & Gambo this afternoon, saying it was largely due to damage to the pitcher. Losing to Tommy John was the biggest blow, but the snake was also due to Martinez and Martinez and aj puk.

Rattlesnakes sell upcoming free agents Merrill Lynch Kelly,,,,, Eugenio Suárez,,,,, Josh Naylor,,,,, Shelby Miller and Randal Grichuk On the deadline. To their credit, they haven’t called in the past two months. After the deadline, the snake scored 29-24. It ended with a disappointing five-game winning streak, but they couldn’t have been on the playoffs perimeter, including the bullpen, mostly rookies or travelers’ deep pickups.

Lovullo suffered some fire in mid-August when it was reported that some players were frustrated by having too many games. The manager defended his star second baseman, who then apologized for missing the first few games of the second half after returning to the Dominican Republic after the All-Star game. Mart later said he was upset when he learned about his Arizona home, and he was stolen while attending the All-Star celebration. D-backs ownership and front desk clearly had confidence Lovullo handled the situation well to avoid losing the clubhouse.

General Manager Mike Hazen also entered his tenth season. Lovullo worked with the Red Sox and followed him to the desert shortly after GM recruiting. The D-Backs have scored two playoff spots in their nine seasons. They won 93 games and were bounced in the 2017 division series. ’23 NL championship season was their only other playoff berth in that game. D-Backs have a regular season winning rate of 0.490 under Lovullo.
