Why hip sway is more important than imagined in a golf swing

When it comes to golf swing, there are a lot of components that need to work together to run properly. And, even if one of them is just one Tad Leaving, that could ruin the whole thing.
You may know (and focus on) the main one. Club path. Face angle. Rotate your shoulders. You get the picture. But hip sway is equally important, but often overlooked.
So, what makes hip swing so important to swing? And how to make sure the correct actions are performed correctly? GolfETC Teaching Quality Josh Troyer explains below.
Why is hip swaying important
If you are seriously improving your golf swing, it may be time to take a closer look at what most amateur golfers overlook: hip swing. What makes hip sway so important is that it plays a huge role in your swing at the lows. If you get it wrong, it can have a disastrous impact on the quality of the strike.
Low Point Control – the position the club touches under in your swing – is the main key to consistent hitting. According to Troyer, the best player moves his hips about 6.5 inches toward the target to the top of the back swing to the finishing position.
“The best players go from 0.3 inches to 3.1 inches on top of the swing [the target] When they hit, by the time they are finished, they are heading towards 6.5 inches. ” Troye said.
If your swing goes into place at the impact, the forward movement of the hip helps to get the low point. Players who keep taking this move often struggle in contact, hitting or grabbing the ball behind the ball.
The direction of the swing is also affected by the swaying of the hips. In fact, the reason why golfers struggle and struggle with swings can be a big reason.
“If you don’t move your hips toward your target from the top of the swing to follow-up, you’ll start to see the turn faster than you should,” Troye said. “That’s when the club starts moving to imports.”
However, make sure not to overuse it, because if you do, you will eventually start to swing too far, which can lead to your own problems. Among them, chief: strive to build a strong connection from rough situations.
From the thick stuff, it’s important to increase the attack angle and hit the ball. However, when your swing is too far away, you usually lower the swing, which can cause the club head to be roughly grabbed before the impact.
“A lot of times, tour players don’t know why they are doing things — they are really good at golf,” Troye said. “But when you start to understand the dynamics, everything starts to make sense.”
So, the next time you find yourself struggling in the low control or swing direction, check the hip sway. The chance to fix it is very likely that it will lead to better hitting and more consistent play in the course.
