Bethpage Black’s six most brutal holes

The icon of the Black course of Bethpage Black (the scene from this year’s Ryder Cup) is the most famous on the golf course.

And, this undoubtedly leaves golfers with what they are going to face.

Under a big red “warning sign,” 16 words read: “Black courses are an extremely difficult course and we only recommend them for highly skilled golfers.”

The Ryder Cup scorecard showed 7,459 yards in 70, 3,646 yards in the outward half and 3,813 in the inward half.

It’s a test from start to finish, but in the biennial challenge between the United States and Europe, there are 24 golfers’ talents and mental abilities that really widen what loopholes.

Golf365 picks out the hardest holes – every nine.

Third hole – 230 yards 3

The first “short hole” T-shirt on the route had an average proximity of 45 feet, which is the toughest 4% rating in the world.

It also has the highest 3-PUTT rate (12%) on its route, with green sitting on the diagonal of the left sand and down the lower right corner.

It’s a harsh test, and par is likely to win the hole.

Fifth hole – 478 yards, 4 strokes, 4 strokes,

This is the toughest 4 of the first nine. The fairway to the right of this Dogleg missed half of the stroke (+0.59), mainly due to the bunker’s snippet to the landing surface.

The test wasn’t over because it was the hardest green to hit in the entire course.

Only 37% of the lenses put the push rod surface in half, which is the lowest rate for Bethpage Black.

Hole 7 – 524 yards 4 strokes

At 524 yards, the seventh place is the top 1% of the world’s 4 strokes.

The average method was hit from 201 yards, and this is another hole with a regulatory rate of less than 50%.

For this, it is 46%, while the chances of making birds (or better) are only 5.9%.

Hole 12 – 515 yards 4 strokes 4

When Bethpage Black staged the 2019 PGA championship, the average score of this cruel dog was the second highest.

Six years ago, it had a birdie rate of 6%.

The twelfth is another great example of a long 4, which will test the players onto the hilt, and even if they find the fairway, the goal of a long iron looking small is a huge challenge.

Hole 15 – 484 yards 4 strokes

If the match reaches this range, it is definitely an absolute beast of holes.

The fairway turns left but leans right, and the last 180 yards rises to a hard, elevated, two-story, fast-running green that is almost blind with the fairway.

The huge green space bunker adds another layer of difficulty, and bogeys are almost certain whether you find short grass from a t-shirt.

It is the toughest hole of the two American openings held at Bethpage Black (2002 and 2009).

Hole 16 – 490 yards 4 strokes 4 strokes

If 15 doesn’t get you, then the chance of 16 is very likely.

The distance close to the shooting is green from left to right, producing a 45% GIR hit rate.

It is the toughest 10% of the world’s 4-shot 4, and finding a huge green space bunker has been subject to a huge fine.
