Gunfight against the Blues in the preseason opener – Hockey Writer – Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars won the first game of the 2025 NHL preseason, beating St. Louis Bruce in a 2-1 gunfight at the American Airlines Center.
Justin Carbonneau scored his only goal for St. Louis. Colten Ellis made 14 saves and Jordan Binnington made 19.

Mavrik Bourque and Sam Steel scored for the stars. Remi Poirer made 10 savings while Antoine Bibeau made 4 saves.
Game review
The first phase of the preseason ended with a 0-0 score, while the Stars led the Blues 8-7.
Carbonneau hit the Blues in 50 seconds in the second stage, shooting the powerful game from the left circle.
Burke tied for the left rebound of the crease with a score of 14:33, in one of Alexander Petrovic’s training from the midpoint.
Despite overtaking Blues 33-15 in the regulations and wasting early power games in overtime, the stars won the victory thanks to the steel in the gunfight.

The Blues will continue the preseason in Sunday’s preseason against Columbus Blue Jackets, while the Stars host the Minnesota wilderness on Tuesday.
