Corey Perry of the Kings of Los Angeles appears 6-8 weeks after knee surgery – Hockey Writer – NHL News

On September 12, Los Angeles Kings forward Corey Perry suffered a knee injury while practicing at the Toyota Sports Performance Center. The next morning, the team announced his successful surgery, which would keep him from six to eight weeks.

Perry is one of the Kings’ top free agent signings for the offseason in 2025. The 40-year-old winger agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal, hoping to bring the tough bottom six to Los Angeles. His experience in six Stanley Cup finals should be priceless.

However, this is short-lived. The Kings season starts about four weeks, which means he will miss the start of the 2025-26 campaign. If the schedule is accurate, Perry will go from several games to the entire October game before it comes back.

In 2024-25, Perry recorded 19 goals and 11 assists in 81 games for the Edmonton Oilers. With 10 goals and four assists added in 22 playoff games, he remains a famous figure in the NHL despite his age. The king hopes he can recover from his six to eight-week schedule.

Perry lost to the Oilers in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for four straight games, and if they meet again, Perry may be a little different. The last thing the Kings want is that given his age, the potential X-factor hasn’t played 100% throughout the season.
