Is the incident full of Ryder Coopers’ motivations? This is what Max Homa said

Ten American Ryder Cup players competed in this week’s Procore Championship, although the Americans are one of the best players in the recent Ryder Cup, not the group.
Homa is in Napa, California, for winning the game twice (called the Fortinet Championship at the time), he comes from the state, attending school for an hour outside of Cal, but it’s also a great place to start on a schedule. He hasn’t played in the Wyndham Championship since a month ago, after missing the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time since 2017.
Of course, Homa wants to be part of this Ryder Cup group, cheering for Bethpage Black in two weeks, but his game doesn’t show up. However, he disagrees that extra attention at Silverado Resort this week was his motivation. He said this was something else.
“Nothing is motivating; it’s cool,” Homa said during a meeting with the media on Wednesday. “I love the event. It’s been a while since a partnership with Fortinet and the fact that they helped to host the event was really great, and then it’s like the last minute exit. So to have Procore, they did last year last year and then obviously stayed in this year, and it’s like Karma, and it’s a year’s shot for them.
At Ryder Cup training camp, there is 1 problem. This is the way to answer
go through:
Nick Pistowski
“In some of the events in the fall, some are understandable, the areas are deep but not heavy, but they are really great. Like the Sanderson Farm Events I like. Obviously, it’s not necessarily like the Scottie Schefflers in the world. So I think it’s really cool.”
HOMA’s press conference was followed by our Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, who is not in the game this week, Ryder Cup players Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa.
Homa feels like a strange person.
Not long ago, in Rome, at the 2023 Ryder Cup, when he led the team with 3.5 points – the next highest point was 2 points – he won a singles match of 1 in Matt Fitzpatrick’s game. He also played in the Presidents Cup in 2022 and 2024, where he also performed well, overall 5-2.
You might say that no American has performed better in team games in the past three years.
“I think it’s as high as possible whenever you wear red, white and blue,” Homa said. “Also, I think it’s really a huge achievement in a grand scheme, so I think you can be proud of it. It’s like winning a golf tournament, qualifying for the team or winning a lot of wins if you’ve ever been to. [a Ryder Cup team]this is the funniest and coolest thing you do. It’s so hard to qualify, and then it’s an achievement that I think that’s why it’s so important to everyone. ”
However, Homa hasn’t won the championship in two years, and when it’s time to be the draft pick for Ryder Cup captain, his name is not in the conversation.
However, he did not bow down this week, nor did he feel sad for himself. He joked that he had a lot of time (especially Saturday and Sunday) over the past year to “reflect on how bad it is.” Despite the lack of a silver lining for the playoffs, it allowed him to be at home as he and his wife welcomed their second child last month. He said he started practicing again about three weeks ago and took his putter more seriously. He is much better at batting at the end of last season and hopes to continue.
He plans to compete in all three games in October: Sanderson Farm, Becker Classic (Japan) and Utah Bank Championships. He hopes to be the top 100 in the FedEx Cup by then, which will invite him to the 2026 player championship.
He has a 2026 goal. But no, this group of Ryder Cuppers didn’t inspire him. He doesn’t need it.
“Yes, it’s not motivating, but I found this event cool with whoever comes out,” Homa said. “It’s always more sleeping than a typical West Coast game, but you’ll see one of the best golfers you’ve ever met in your life like the front row seats, so I think it’s great.”
