Golf Business News – Golf boom continues, England Golf reports record-breaking months

August has been a record month for England golf in terms of scores submitted to the World Barrier System for a single calendar month.

More than 1.6 million scores were submitted last month for disability purposes, surpassing 1.569 billion in August 2024, compared with a monthly record of 1.597 billion in May.

While there was a particularly dry sunny summer in 2025, record numbers were seen in the game, with 53% of the scores submitted through the game, while the remaining 47% scored through the average game.

In total, 896,100 scores were submitted in the first eight months of 2025, and last year’s 10.214 billion looks set to surpass the end of the year.

England Golf also reported that it is continuing to see growth in its Igolf and iPlay programs, seeing the total number of Igolf users pass 70,000 in August, while the number of iPlay registrations was over 11,000 users.
