Golf Business News – Open in Amurgen

Last week’s Amgen Irish Open raised over €170,000 for the Amgen Irish Open, with more than €80,000 from the 18th Hole Wish Initiative.
Make-Awish Ireland is the official charitable partner for the tournament for the fourth consecutive year, with the goal of raising funds to give hope to children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions.
The Wish Campaign is one of several fundraising initiatives on the scene, with 248 birdies and 26 eagles on the 18th hole on the Palmer North Route in the K Club.
Amgen and DP World Tour jointly donated €300, the host of the 2006 Ryder Cup, to €82,200, for the 18th hole on the Palmer North track.
Amgen golf ambassadors Pádraig Harrington, Shane Lowry and Séamus Power also contributed €13,000 to the fundraiser. The trio promised to donate €500 per bird and €1,000 per eagle of their week.
There are many cash and contactless collection points on the K Club website. Coupled with the popular megachallenge in the tournament, more than 36,000 euros were raised directly on the spot. Super also raised an additional €12,800 on Saturday, Amgen donated €2 on the third day of K Club, while over €11,800 was raised through Amgen’s interactive fan game sponsored in Fan Village.
Prior to the championship, Make-Awish Ireland auctioned a four-goal to play the iconic course, generating more than €3,000 to support its mission, while staff at Amgen, Ireland raised more than €11,500 through the Wish Challenge.
The charity’s incredible work was witnessed on site at K Club last week as 2019 Open champion Lowry surpassed the beat, which gave 11-year-old Dáire Coyle who will never forget at the Amgen Irish Open.
Funds raised at this year’s Amgen Irish Open will help bring more aspirations to children aged three to 17 to threaten life-threatening medical conditions.
Paul Greene, Vice President of Field Operations at AMGEN, commented: “This is another memorable week for the Amgen Irish people to open up and we are honored to stand with the willing Ireland as their work continues to bring joy and hope for children and families. Joy and hope for children and families. Incredible generosity has been brought to great funding by the players and our partners, which has enabled us to make our lives more and more, and we will become more and more. Ambassadors – Shane Lowry, Pádraig Harrington and Séamus Power – their passion and commitment continue to inspire, and everyone who contributes to this meaningful cause.”
May the Irish CEO Susan McQuaid O’Dwyer said: “Over the past three years, at the Amurgen Irish Open, we have seen the true magic of wishes and this year is no different. The wish to make Shane Lowry Grant Dáire at K Club here is a moment that Dáire and his family will always cherish. The power and joy for children suffering from serious illness.”
