Liverpool’s face transfer battle signs Marc Guehi in January

The 25-year-old England International, one of the most stable centre-backs in the Premier League in recent seasons, is in the final months of his contract and has made it clear that he does not intend to extend his stay in Selhurst Park.

Guache approached leaving the palace as Liverpool strongly pushed his signature.

The Reds are willing to pay about £35 million and have reached personal terms with the defender.

The medical treatment was even completed, but the transfer collapsed in the final stage, frustrating both the player and the Arne Slot’s side.

This disappointment may soon be re-examined, and the winter window gives another chance to move.

Crystal Palace changed their position. The club had previously rejected Newcastle United’s €60 million offer a few months ago and has now cut its asking price to £25 million.

With Guéhi’s contract expires in the summer, the Hawks are reluctant to lose the risk of losing key assets in a free transfer.

Liverpool is expected to renew their pursuits, but this time they will face more intense competition.

Bayern Munich is closely monitoring the situation while looking for the bargain volume on the back.

Meanwhile, Juventus and Real Madrid may negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January to enable them to sign a free transfer after his palace deal expires.

Chelsea is also in the framework, with the possibility of resuming graduate students from its former college based on the future of Axel Disasi at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City also kept the label as they were considering adding depth to the defensive team.

Guéhi’s desire for a new challenge has become clear, and the Palace’s attempt to connect him to a new term has failed. With European elites hovering, his price has been greatly reduced, and January can mark the end of his trip to the palace.

Paul Merson praised Guehi on Sky Sports:

“Guehi is a great player. I do think he’s mid-middle level – absolute level. He’s in everyone’s team in my opinion.”
