Dodgers run on Dalton on 10-day injured roster

The Dodgers place the catcher Dalton rush According to the team’s announcement, this afternoon was on the list of 10-day injuries, due to a tibial contusion. Rushing’s position in the active roster will be used for the receiver Chuckie Robinsonthe Dodgers selected three innings from Oklahoma City. Robinson will occupy 40 right-handed list Matt Sauerdesignated as a task.

24-year-old Rushing seems likely to have some runway behind the plate in Los Angeles Will Smith Commission failed due to bruises from his throwing hand bone. He also found himself out after fouling his leg ball earlier this week. Earlier today, Rushing told reporters (including Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times) that a CT scan showed he had avoided a fracture of his tibia but still suffered deep bone bruises. While Smith’s bone bruises are something the club feels they can avoid putting him on Illinois State, it’s not a rush situation and they’ll be heading to IL for at least the next ten days now. Depending on the severity of the bruises, he can certainly be longer than that.

While losing the sprint is unfortunate, it is often possible to lose the huge blow of the highest prospects. The 2022 second rounder debut this year didn’t hit his first taste, with his lowest point .190/.254/.298 (54 WRC+) slash in 45 games. The bad performance rate is above the strikeout rate of 38.8%, although of course it must be admitted that it is easier said than done for any rookie, let alone step into the backup capturer role, and in his Grand Slam he has only 134 crickets in his first three and a half months.

However, regardless of the Rushing’s outcome, the damage only complicates the problems LA faces behind the plate, and Smith is not available at the moment. Ben Rotwitter Smith was asked to serve as the third catcher in the lineup when it was unavailable and now he will perform his regular catcher role in the short term, while Robinson is now ready to be his backup. Rortvedt has nothing to write on the .092/181/.108 slash line in this year’s Grand Slam between the Rays and the Dodgers, but he’s a passable (87 WRC+) batsman, and last year, due to a 10.7% walk rate. Offensively, this is more successful than Robinson’s success in the Grand Slam. Robinson has 51 games in the major leagues, and during that time, his career WRC+ was -3 and hit only .132/.170/.194, meaning he is 103% worse than the league average hitter.

Now, in his 30-year-old season, Robinson’s value comes entirely from his ability to be a quality defender behind the plate, and in Roultertwitter’s own powerful resume, the Dodgers should also have a solid defensive tandem in the Catchers, even if the two don’t offer much offensively. Los Angeles’ Bats have been thriving, with 193 scoring at the bottom since the All-Star Game. Of course, Smith’s 154 WRC+ temporary exit from the roster is the biggest loss, but it’s certainly not going to help from the sub-average relegation of Rushing’s sub-average numbers to the pitcher-level offensive production offered by Rortvedt and Robinson. Once Smith is fully healthy and can resume major catch duties, which of Robinson and Roultewitt will stick with which Robinson and Roultewitt, maybe if one or the other shows signs over the next few days, this may be the deciding factor, which is difficult to determine.

As for Saul, the right-hander made his debut in the Royals’ major league last year but struggled with 7.71 ERA in 14 games. Now with the Dodgers, he scored 29 2/3 innings in the major league level ten games, but still struggled to reach 6.32 ERA at that time, despite enough peripheral numbers, including 4.24 XFIP and 4.02 Siera. Now, he will be claimed by another club and if he is unclaimed, the Dodgers will have the opportunity to use him directly as a non-coffee athlete.
