2K Games confirmed in an article on X on Thursday that it is now making a new college basketball video game. The company said it is developing a “college basketball experience,” which includes more than 100 programs.

EA Sports reportedly ended plans for the first official college basketball game since 2009 on the same day, with 2K Games announcing the goal of releasing a game in several years.

Although the last EA Sports University basketball game is NCAA Basketball 10the company brought back college football games last year under the name of College Sports, image and similarity (NIL) era.
EA Sports won’t develop college basketball video games

“Everyone at EA Sports is disappointed, and we all can’t find an acceptable way forward, but we appreciate your support, trying to play independent college basketball games with all the men’s and women’s division 1 institutions and student-athletes, conferences, and the NCAA and in the way fans tell us they want. We really like your support.”
NBA 2K26 is released on September 5
