Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will have a blockbuster showdown in Sunday’s U.S. Open final, their third straight major final. The winner will leave New York in the PIF ATP rankings, which is the defending champion Sinner currently ranked No. 1 in the PIF ATP rankings.

When is the US Open?

The final between Top Seed Sinner and Second Seed Alcaraz will begin on Sunday at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the world’s largest tennis court stadium.

All of this adds up

Sinner and Alcaraz swept through the past seven majors, ensuring the closing of a second consecutive calendar year. When the Italians started a major season with a victory at the Australian Open, Alcaraz won the Roland Garros trophy in a dramatic way, earning Sinner three title points. Sinner then beat Wimbledon to finish his second Grand Slam and fourth in 2025.

Alcaraz led Sinner 9-5 in the Lexus ATP Head2head competition, which featured shocking matches such as the 2022 U.S. Open quarterfinals meeting, where their only encounter at Flushing Meadows, won the match after Sinner held a match point.
