2 swing failures cause you to top the ball – and how to fix them

There is little more frustrating on a golf course than destroying solid drives in a bland way. Worst of all, when you don’t even give the ball a chance to hit the ball well. This feeling is too common for the Weekend Warriors, and it prevents them from continuing to score lower.
When it comes to bad contact, there are two main mistakes: split shots and sparse shots. We’ve covered what causes the big chunks to shoot, but today we’re heading in the opposite direction as we share suggestions on how to prevent the top.
In the text below, the director of Golftec Teaching Quality, Josh Troyer explains the best reasons for the best shot and provides a solution to the solution.
Why do you put the ball on the top
If you’re going to get on a golf ball, it’s usually not random – there are two common swing failures behind it, and both can be fixed.
1. Hip hangs backwards
One of the biggest problems is poor hip movement during swing. Instead of shifting the hips to the target, the golfer will hang down, resulting in low-score control.
“The best players in the world, when they hit the target, their hips are about 3.1 inches towards the target,” Troye said. “On all these spots, golfers of golf tend to stay away from the target.”
In other words, you may be too far away. The lack of forward swing makes you instinctively try to avoid hitting the ground behind the ball – which leads to the next problem.
2. Chicken Wings
To avoid covering the ball, many golfers stretch their arms out toward their bodies – leading to the terrible chicken wings.
“They basically pull their arms closer to their bodies so that the club doesn’t hit the ground,” Troye said. “When you do that and you’re not at the right time, that’s when the best point is too high and you’re on the top.”
If you want to swing effectively, you must keep your arms stretched and the chicken wings do not allow it.
How do you solve these problems?
An easy fix for the problem that your hips stay is to bring them close to the target. When you play against the ball, try to hit your hips to the hips that are closer to the target.
With such hips preset, try to make some smaller semi-swinging. When you do this, focus on your hips moving towards the target and keep your arms stretched through the impact.
“You’re really close when you try to squeeze your elbows together when you push your hips toward your target,” Troye said.
If you can do this, you will always do your best to eliminate the top.
