Blake Price: “David, I probably remember the quietest summer. Not only from Canucks’ perspective, but the league is vast.
Pagnotta: “Yes, yes. It’s because there’s not even any activity, there’s no activity at all. I mean, everyone talks about a pretty big game after July, after the draft, after one person in July, we’re going to get some work done in the summer and we’re going to get things excited, not even get us excited, not even a lot of things.
So hopefully, before the season starts, it will be a very active September. But according to the last six weeks, I don’t know, I don’t know if I hold my breath.

Minnesota wild dogs say they are not far from Kirill Kaprizov expansion, which is probably the largest NHL deal ever
Athlete Joe Smith: Minnesota wild owner Craig Leipold contract with Kirill Kaprizov in the wild is extended.
“I just feel like we’re not too far away,” Leipold said. “I kind of think we’re there. I want to believe when Kirill comes over and gets a little more about the excitement and love of the city again, and I think we’re going to go in a good direction.”
The 28-year-old Kaprizov will meet with Leipold and GM Bill Guerin shortly after his arrival. No team can offer as much money as the wild, which could be an eight-year contract of $150 to $16 million. Even in the NHL, it could be the biggest deal.

“It’s going to be a huge deal – probably the biggest NHL ever,” said Leipold. “There’s no better person or a better hockey player than Kirill, nor is there a better person. I think it’s going to be a great conversation we had with him. I’m very anxious and looking forward to this conversation. I think we’ll move forward quickly after that.”
