Callaway’s 2025 Apex utility series goes back to classics

While the PGA Tour is growing trending, it’s a step towards the tall fairway Woods near the top of the bag, Callaway knows there are other options.
With the company’s new Apex Utility Series, Callaway is offering three new options that may end up in that sometimes-tricky-to-fit second, third or fourth longest club in your bag.
Of these three options, the third generation of popular Apex practical wood will surely attract the attention of the gear head.
All three options, including the new Apex Ti Super Hybrid and Apex UT, are designed for players looking for versatile secondary T-shirt options at the top of the bag. However, each new club is designed to meet different goals.
Please continue reading below for details about all three clubs, and what I think about this new version.
What are the clubs in the Apex utility series?
Callaway’s new Apex utility series includes three new, unique clubs.
2025 Apex Practical Wood

The highlight of this release will be the third generation of Apex UW. The original UW, which was originally released in 2021, is still in the packages of many PGA Tour experts, including Xander Schauffele and the occasional Sam Burns. The following is not limited to tours.
With the latest version, Callaway returns to its original shaping, making the first-generation UW so versatile.
“It’s based on the feedback from the Tour player. It’s based on the feedback from the market. It’s an interesting person because there are some people who are playing with it. It’s a person who never comes out of the packaging.” “Then you start looking at some, some nuances, and a lot of them boil down to shaping.”
There are also some new technologies, including the new tungsten speed and step design from Elyte Fairway Woods. The Tungsten Speed Wave replaces the original version of the mimic weight port, placing low mass and forwards to facilitate high speed and launch.
Like previous versions, UW is still a bonded Hoth product that limits most lofts and limits adjustments to most consumers, but there are actually more adjustments to make for more adjustments when they have the ability to bend.
2025 Apex Ti Super Hybrid

With the super hybrid now under the Apex brand, the latest model adopts Callaway’s Ti Fusion Irons, which can take out the titanium face and pair it with steel.
“What we can do is a very light face and then have a more stable body, which is great for serving speed,” Oakley said.
The Ti Super Hybrid also combines step soles to enhance turf interactions and deeper faces to improve battery performance.
Apex UT

The third option is the company’s hollow-drive iron platform Apex UT.
The new UT has a new Flexcore technology, part of a six-piece structure that makes the face more bent on low hits, thus maintaining the ball’s speed and rotation.
Classic iron-like shapes help UT combine Callaway iron kits, such as the Apex AI150 or similar profiles, and are available in attics of Type 2 iron (18˚) to 5 iron (24°).
Who are these clubs?
Since these are three different clubs, they serve three different golfers.
this Apex UW It is targeted for senior players, he is not very suitable for traditional tall fairway Woods, but also doesn’t like hybrids and is worried about missing out with their left. The low forward CG of the UW should help create a neutral ball flight bias, and the versatile shape will help it perform well on Fairway Woods in the same loft.
UW players may also be a high-class golfer who struggles with the length of a long fairway forest and can take advantage of the ultra-forgiving soles and shapes.
same, Ti super hybrid It is a fairway wood replacement for a premium hand golfer, who has a steep attack angle that requires the ball speed that the titanium face can provide.
at last, Apex UT is another elite player club designed to get rid of the flight of tees and low penetration balls with precision.
My thoughts
Just like bringing X forged irons to the market earlier this summer, Callaway once again listens to players and market feedback by returning to the shaping that makes Apex UW a favorite of cults.

Some players have kept the version in the package for years, showing no signs of replacing it, but now there may be a worthwhile successor.
UW is a unique club that is indeed an option for players who don’t like hybrids and are worried about missing out on their left hand, but requires versatility to Tee and approach games.
Ti Super Hybrid also occupies this space, but at the other end of the player spectrum, for golfers who don’t like fairway Woods, a secondary selection is required on the tee.
My now 70-year-old unit barrier father struggled with a steep attack angle, making the hybrid a more attractive option for him, but with his speed he does need huge size and forgiveness for fairway Woods. For such players, UW or Super Hybrid (or both) might be a good choice.
For me, as a high-speed player, I was also excited to have more tests with UW to see how it performs next to the existing hybrid, and I had to put the lead tape on my toes to avoid missing out on my left hand.
Finally, the new UT offers a great option for players looking for a driving iron that won’t swell in the wind and can add a huge addition to the bags traveling to the UK.
