Ronaldegno wants him to be like the English star, Thierry Henry is afraid

Ronaldinho is considered one of the most outstanding football players of all time, but the Brazilian idol once admitted that he was jealous of an English legend.

The former Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and AC Milan star almost signed Manchester United, and Old Trafford’s man saw him as a replacement for David Beckham. However, the Nou Camp men hijacked any deals with attackers becoming Barcelona stars.

Ronaldinho never played his club football in England, but broke the hearts of three Lions in the 2002 World Cup, kicking a victory goal from David Seaman in the quarterfinals.

The 2005 Ballon D’Or champion also competed with the Premier League in the UEFA Champions League, a match he won against Barcelona in 2006.

During his game days, a specific Premier League and English idol attracted Ronaldinho’s eyes.

Ronaldinho imagines English legend Paul Scholes

Ronaldinho has previously spoken to express his admiration for Manchester United and England legend Paul Scholes.

Scholes is considered one of the best midfielders of the Premier League ever, starring under Sir Alex Ferguson after traveling through the Red Devils Academy.

Scholes, known for his range of passes, technical abilities and midfield intelligence, won 11 league titles and scored over 150 goals in Man Utd’s 700 appearances.

Ronaldinho competed against Scholes in the 2002 World Cup soccer match and then played again against AC Milan in 16 rounds of the 2009/10 Champions League.

Man Utd and Scholes got Ronaldinho and AC Milan to beat them 7-2, with the Brazilian admitting he was jealous of the British passing ability.

“I want to pass like he did. Who taught him how to do it?”

Thierry Henry is “feared” by Utd Icon Scholes

Arsenal icon Thierry Henry is the person Scholes faces more regularly throughout his career, with the French striker losing eight times in 19 games against the British and Manchester United.

Henry once revealed that he and his Gunners teammates were “always afraid of what Scholes could do” with the ball under his feet.

“[Manchester] Manchester United always has many great players, but whenever we face them, we are always, always, always afraid of what Paul Scholes can do. Ask anyone on that old Arsenal team and they will tell you the same thing.

“If you let him play, he can kill you, and to me, he’s underrated. The way he plays: one touch, gets into the box, he hits the ball, his vision, his way of passing the ball. It’s incredible.”
