NFL Exec says Micah Parsons trades “Luka Trade 2.0”

Another Dallas sports team has traded a star player who just entered his championship, this time with cowboy guard Micah Parsons involved in the NFL.

Denim swaps Micah Parsons for packer

After the offseason contract dispute, the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, who reportedly signed a record four-year, $188 million contract.

In exchange, Dallas won three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks (2026 and 2027). Clark was one of his lowest-productive seasons in the 2024 production season, with only 37 tackles and just one sack.

Parsons’ new deal also includes a $120 million signing guarantee and a $136 million guarantee, making him the highest quarter-free in NFL history.

According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, an NFC North employee compared the trade deal with Dallas Mavericks trade superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

The Lakers won Doncic, Maxi Cleber and Mark Morris from the Mavericks, while Dallas acquired Anthony Davis, Max Christie and the Lakers’ first-round draft picks in 2029.

“Luca trades 2.0. The meeting is crazy. It shows how much Jerry’s self is involved,” the staff said. “Those first-round picks are not worth a lot, because Green Bay should be a playoff contender in the next few years. You won’t trade a player who has been passed down from generation to generation, especially someone who is not a criminal and has no off-court problems. It’s not really a mistake.”

The Mavericks traded Don Sici after winning NBA Rookie of the Year in five consecutive All-Star games and all-NBA first-team choices, and established their identity as a perennial MVP candidate.

Parsons is the best NFL defender

Last month, the Lakers signed a three-year, $165 million high contract extension at Doncic, which will allow him to maintain his future in Los Angeles for at least 2028.

Meanwhile, Parsons also has a similar resume, with four Pro Bowl games, two first-team nods in full-time positions, and won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. In his first four seasons, he recorded 12 or more sacks, joining Hall of Fame member Reggie White, the only player.

Additionally, the only cowboys who started their career with four Pro Bowls were Zack Martin and Hall of Fame Smith and Mel Renfro.

Parsons is also a third-time finalist for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

After months of fan bounce, the Mavericks were lucky enough to rank first in the NBA Draft No. 1 and used it to select potential superstars in Cooper Flagg.

However, unlike the Mavericks, the Cowboys have not yet won the championship of this century.

Despite 10 playoff games since 2000, Dallas has won only four playoff games in the past 25 seasons. The Cowboys lost 48-32 in the NFC wildcard showdown last season.

Dallas has not yet made it to the NFC Championship with quarterback Dak Prescott.

Parsons will return to Dallas with the Packers in Week 4 of the season, when Green Bay plays the Cowboys Sunday night football.
