JK Dobbins is expected to lead the backcourt of Denver in early 2025

After the 2024 season, the Broncos upgraded to the 2025 RB room. The team signed veteran RB JK Dobbins to a one-year contract. In addition, they used the second round of capital selection to select RJ Harvey from UCF.
With the 2025 season approaching, there is hype happening around Harvey. However, an ESPN analyst won’t lead JK Dobbins’ team early on. Dan Graziano reported Wednesday that if Harvey can’t keep up, Denver’s pecking order will be resolved soon.
One analyst predicts that JK Dobbins will see more game time than rookie RJ Harvey

The Ravens won a second round pick in the 2020 draft, picking RB JK Dobbins from Ohio State. He suddenly appeared on the scene as a rookie and was a direct contributor to Baltimore. In 15 games in 2022, Dobbins rushed for 805 yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Unfortunately, RB suffered several injuries early in his career in Baltimore. Dobbins missed the entire 2021 season due to injury.
After the 2023 season, Dobbins’ rookie deal ended with the Ravens. He signed a one-year contract with the Chargers in 2024 and had a rebound season. The 26-year-old rushed for 905 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024. The Broncos caught a signed Dobbins in a one-year contract for the 2025 season. Denver wants to improve their RB room, Dobbins is a low-risk, high-reward option.

Additionally, the Broncos used a second round pick to choose RJ Harvey from UCF in 2025. In his final season with the Golden Knights, Harvey rushed for 1,577 yards and 22 touchdowns. He ran 6.8 yards per carry in 2024. Recently, ESPN’s Dan Graziano shared some internal information about the battle between Dobbins and Harvey.
Graziano explains how JK Dobbins have the upper hand with head coach Sean Payton. That’s because Dobbins makes more sense in his pass protection skills. This is a requirement of Payton’s offensive system. Harvey’s passing skills aren’t where the Mustangs want them to be. So why Dan Graziano believes JK Dobbins will lead the backcourt in Denver early this season.
