US Open 2025: Daniil Medvedev

Former U.S. Open champion Daniil Medvedev received a huge fine for his actions in an extraordinary first-round exit.
Medvedev, 29, was eliminated from the Grand Slam Championship when he was defeated by France’s Benjamin Bonzi.
Previously ranked No. 1 in the world was fined nearly £31,500 ($42,500) by the American Tennis Association.
He was docked for his non-movement behavior for $30,000, and another $12,500 was used to knock the racket down the chair.
This means Russia will have to confiscate 40% of the first round bonus he received.
After Sunday’s incident, Medvedev said he was ready for punishment.
“My fine is very big, so if I talk, I’m in a lot of trouble so I can’t talk,” he said.
