Dolphins’ De’von Achane (Mavericks) will prepare for Week 1 of the 2025 season

The Dolphins fell into that goal in 2024 after four straight winning seasons. The team did hit the game 8-9, but it wasn’t Miami’s offensive product in the past season.

As a team, the Dolphins need to stay healthy in the 2025 season. Last season, one of their main contributors was RB De’von Achane. He played 17 games and played 16 games. Recently, Achane missed time due to a calf injury. So he missed Miami’s final preseason. On Wednesday, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier reported that De’von Achane will offer against the Colts in Week 1.

Miami’s Positive Injury to RB De’von Achane Update

Last week, the Dolphins kept RB De’von Achane for practice due to a calf injury. In addition, he missed the team’s last preseason game on Saturday, August 23. Achane didn’t practice much this week, either. Miami still has about two weeks before the 2025 season begins. Dolphin General Manager Chris Grier shared Achance’s positive injury update Wednesday morning.

He told reporters that the 23-year-old RB will be over the air in Week 1. In his first two seasons with the team, De’von Achane proved that he was a double threat RB. As a rookie, Achane has 800 yards on 103 carrys and eight rush touchdowns. In addition, he has 27 catches in 197 catches and 3 catches.

Achance has played in 11 games and became a rookie in 2023. Last season, Achane took over as a full-time starter in Miami. He played all 17 games and played 16 games. Achanane passed the ball to 203 907 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. The sophomore pro exploded with 78 catches for 592 yards and 6 touchdowns in the reception game. Entering 2025, Achane will become a feature of the dolphin offense.

De’von Achane saw at least five goals in 10 of his 17 games last season. It’s a high level for RB, but Achane makes the most of his chances. He caught 78 of 87 targets in 2024. Last season, the young RB averaged 34.2 yards per game. Chris Grier gives an update that De’von Achane will be ready for Week 1. Miami opened its 2025 season on the road with the Indianapolis Colts.
