US Open 2025: Jack Draper exits with arm injury before round 2

Britain’s No. 1 Jack Draper withdraws from the U.S. Open due to an arm injury.
Entering the semi-finals last year, the fifth seed was seen as one of the contenders for the title on Flushing Meadows, but his preparations were destroyed by injuries.
The 23-year-old played in the first round of the Argentina qualifiers in four tricky matches on Tuesday.
He was scheduled to play Belgium’s Zizou Bergs on Thursday.
“I tried my best to be here and give myself every chance to play, but my arm discomfort became too much,” Draper wrote in a statement on X.
“I have to do the right thing and take care of myself.”
