The Ryder Cup team is composed of 6 captains’ draft picks (and 1 surprise)

After waiting for Keegan Bradley to make six key decisions, the fate of our U.S. Ryder Cup team next month finally determines six key decisions and we now have the answer.
Few people see a major surprise.
Bradley, captain of the 2025 US Ryder Cup, chose Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns to gather his team, the announcement was officially announced at his U.S. PGA headquarters in Frisco, Texas.
The six join the six automatic series – Scottie Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau – will be at the 45th Ryder Cup on Bethpage Black on Long Island from September 26-28.
Although Bradley didn’t call his own name on Wednesday, many suspect he would be his first game since Arnold Palmer in 1963 (a home win in the United States), which is his name. Bradley, 39, has performed well enough in the past two years to make a compelling case for his roster. He won again last year and this season, and he ranked 11th in the Ryder Cup rankings after last week’s Tour title. He is one of the biggest rosters of the Ryder Cup team in 2023 and has long admired the game and why he wants to be a part of it so badly.
But Bradley said his decision to not play on Wednesday was made not long ago.
“It’s a very difficult decision,” Bradley said. “There’s a little bit this year I played a game a while ago, but all of these guys have strengthened the team in a big way. It’s something I’m very proud of, I really want it, but it’s a very difficult decision, but I’m really happy. I’m really happy with the six players – I’m so glad it’s over.”
It’s usually a surprise when the PGA of the U.S. announced that Bradley, who played in only two Ryder Cup games, served as captain Bradley in 2025, which is usually a job for more veteran players or those with more Ryder Cup appearances or previous vice captain experiences. This is also often given to people who may not be a team player.
It’s always very likely that Bradley played enough to be a roster, but in the summer, when he recorded six top 10, missing only two cuts, and ranked seventh in the official world golf rankings (he’s now 11th), it became more of a conversational theme throughout the summer. The highlight is in June. With the crowd favorites, they grew up for hours, Bradley won the Travelers Championship in TPC River Heights in Cromwell, Connecticut.
“I don’t think you’re going to find any or more Americans who think he shouldn’t be on the team,” Rickie Fowler said at the BMW Championship two weeks ago.
However, opinions keep changing and if the captain of the game has not only good performance, but also excellent performance. Last week, Bradley called the decision the Ryder Cup champion, “the biggest life of my life.”
On Wednesday, he did it officially. He went out.
This will be Thomas’ fourth Ryder Cup. Both Morikawa and Cantlay will play in their third game, while Burns will play in the second game. Griffin and Young will make their Ryder Cup debut.
Thomas, Morikawa and Griffin were ranked 7-9 in the final Ryder Cup rankings, while Young (14), Cantlay (15th) and Burns (16th) all outperformed the top 12. Maverick McNealy (10th) and Brian Harman (Brian Harman) (No. 12), and Bradley (11th), and Bradley (11th), Bradley (11th), and Bradley (11th), are the players of The The Press nes the Pick.
The European Ryder Cup team consolidated its six automatic series on Sunday. Captain Luke Donald will make it on Monday in his six captain draft picks.
