Lee Trevino

These days, golf fans may disagree in many cases – technology, equipment, who should be the Ryder Cup team – but everyone has a rule: When Lee Trevino speaks, you listen.

In an industry with competitive skills and schools of thought, Trevino’s words do this through the authority of those who have been there and do better than most.

So it’s hard to imagine a world, usually on the receiving end of the golf tip Trevino (usually in golf wisdom), let alone one that makes a lasting impression. But that’s exactly Trevino Jack Burke Jr.

Trevino tells the story in a recent video by Parker McLachlin, golf teacher, when he was asked how amateurs develop reliable pitching. After spending a little time reading all I can imagine is a psychological library full of incredible golf knowledge, Trevino prepared us with a simple and effective golf instruction.

Jack Burke’s pitching skills

He said: “Jackie Burke, champion golf course.

According to Trevino, Burke hit the court with one hand on the club. Trevino held the wedge and placed the club head behind the ball. Next, he placed the trails in the club. Trevino placed his foot on his feet as his grip was fixed, ready to pull the trigger.

Trevino explained that changing the way he was on the ball made him set up in the proper ball position and arm position every time.

“You will notice how this is [his lead arm and club] Trevino said.

As Trevino proves, when your hand starts behind the ball from the address, it forces you to flip or manipulate your hands to hit the ball. This often creates bad contact and allows you to perform more rigid or stable movements on the ball.

To make sure his hands are in the right position, Trevino uses simple tips that can be copied.

“My hands should be worn on my shoes,” he said.

With Burke’s setup keys and Trevino’s simple tips, you can make sure you’re in the right place every time. Within 50 yards, you can make your contact clearer.
