League insiders claim Trae Young wants to stay with the Hawks despite speculation

In 2024-25, the Hawks finished the game with a 40-42 record. They played but didn't get a spot in the 2025 playoffs. They missed the playoffs for the second straight season.
Recently, sports talk show host Dan Patrick invited Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report in a performance by Dan Patrick. They discussed various topics, one of which was Trae Young and Hawks. Haines reported that Young hopes to stay in Atlanta for a long time. He invested in the future of his team and hoped to help them reach another level.

Chris Haynes told Dan Patrick that Trae Young thought he was “in a good place.” The 26-year-old just finished his seventh season with Atlanta. The Hawks played three playoff games in seven years with the young team. This includes the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals. Haines reported to Dan Patrick that once Atlanta enters a young core, Young would guess there would be speculation.
Additionally, Young handled Atlanta’s No. 1 rankings, just like a real professional. When the Eagles drafted Zaccharie Risacher, Young took him to his hometown in Oklahoma to spend time with him. Hannis said a week and a half ago that Young told him “all the time is in trouble”. Trae Young invests in Hawks' future and hopes to be part of the reason the team takes a step forward.
Last season, the four All-Stars averaged 11.6 assists per game. Young has two years left in his deal with the Hawks. He will make $45.9 million in 2025-26 and then get $48.9 million in 2026-27. This summer, Young qualifies for a four-year extension, which could be five years if he makes an all-NBA. From Chris Haynes reports, all signs point to Trae Young being with the Atlanta Hawks.
