Kane returns to the Oilers, Hughes Trade and more NHL Rumors – Hockey Writer – NHL Rumors

In today’s NHL rumor, Elliotte Friedman has come up with some interesting updates in his recent 32 Ideas Podcast, while track and field watch the rumble of Quinn Hughes. There is a hot opinion that suggests that Evander Kane may return to the Edmonton Oilers while Jack Roslovic is still on the radar of Toronto Maple Leafs.
Vancouver Canucks: Hughes and the Search Center
Quinn Hughes remains Vancouver’s biggest storyline. Athlete’s James Mirtle noted that while a strong season could convince the captain of the Ganak to stay (he still has two more seasons on his current contract), “it feels unlikely, but suggests that the front desk may need to start thinking about a sensational deal.
He wrote:
“Maybe Vancouver is surprising and has a huge rebound season to convince their captain to stay. Honestly, it’s unlikely for me, but it’s their best scenario. Otherwise, they have to start thinking about the look of a sensational trade and whether it’s all futures.”

The New Jersey Devil is reportedly expected to closely monitor the situation and be prepared to take action if Quinn is available.
Edmonton Oilers: Goalkeeper’s bold and bold predictions
In Edmonton, the change of crease seems inevitable. Jason Gregor suggests DFO Bankruptcy podcasts show that the Oilers are unlikely to end the season with the same tandem of Calvin Pickard and Stuart Skinner. The sport’s Allan Mitchell also hints about a major goalkeeper overhaul next summer – if not very soon. “If it’s before the trade deadline…the same two goalkeepers are in Picard and Skinner’s Edmonton. I just think it’s inevitable,” Gregor pointed out.
Edmonton analyst David Staples shared a bold summer forecast on social media on the ice. Among them: Nurse Darnell can rewrite his playoff narrative in 2026, Noah Philp may be the team’s breakthrough star this season, and perhaps – perhaps the most interesting – the Oilers may wield the trade deadline deal to bring back Evander Kane.
Toronto Maple Leaf: Roslovic is still playing
According to Frank Seravalli, Toronto still said “very important” to Jack Roslovic despite Vancouver’s retreat. Their interest in him can be traced back to the beginning of free agents, but for some reason nothing was done. Toronto took other moves to fill the gap left by outgoing Mitch Marner, while Roslovic could provide depth in the middle six of Leafs.

Any delay can be related to financial obstacles. Insiders suggest up to five to six teams are still in the mix.
Anaheim Ducks: McTavish talk continues
Negotiations between Duck and Mason McTavish are underway, with discussions surrounding bridges and long-term deals. Friedman revealed that McTavish’s camp even considered the offer this summer, despite not being achieved.
It was reported that both sides maintained cordial negotiations, and that was not the case where Duck and McVish became frustrated. McTavish is pushing for a deal that reflects its value, but Friedman noted that all parties involved in the discussion are known for their fierce negotiators.
Montreal Canadian: The Future of Ryan Hutson
The Montreal Canadiens are eager to lock Lane Hutson in a long-term lockdown, and negotiations reportedly hovered the $8.5 million AAV range, albeit slowly.
Recent contracts, such as the extension of Frank Nazar’s Chicago and Noah Dobson, are expected to affect Hutson’s number. It will be fun to see if Hutson sticks to a shorter deal and hopes to go public again when the cap is higher, or hopes to make money early and sign for eight years.
