Keegan Bradley has a lot of ideas at the 2025 Tour Championship. In addition to fighting for the FedEx Cup title, Bradley also considered his Ryder Cup captain’s draft pick. But perhaps most importantly, he was distressed by the decisions of many: whether to make himself the pick for the captain.
Bradley vented his feelings at East Lake after changing the second round of the game, revealing that the decision to play the Ryder Cup captain in Bethpage Black would be “the biggest decision of my life.”
Keegan says he’s “to be with it all”
Bradley will announce him as the six captain draft picks for the 2025 US Ryder Cup team next Wednesday. It will mark the beginning of one of the most unexpected Ryder Cup captains in history.
Bradley will be the youngest captain in the United States at the age of 39 since Arnold Palmer in 1963. Usually, the captain is aging. But Bradley is one of the best players in the world, currently ranks 13th in the official world golf rankings and 11th in the FedEx Cup rankings.

He also played only one Ryder Cup match and was famously left the 2023 American team that lost in Rome.
“It’s really weird for me to be captain,” Bradley admitted on Friday’s Tour Championship. “It’s not something anyone really goes through.”
Unlike any of his predecessors, Bradley had to balance the responsibilities of becoming a captain’s career, not to mention trying to win games on the team.
The balancing act seemed to have put Bradley on the cliff of his big decision.
“I’m having a hard time splitting my captain and my game right now. This has been the case for the past month, but this week I’m working on it. But that’s everything I’m thinking about. Thinking about pairing, something I want to say to these guys in a week. It’s hard,” Bradley said Friday.
In June, Bradley overcame the difficulties of winning the Travelers championship. Since then, as the captain approaches, he struggles in the course.

This week is getting harder for him, making him admit on Friday that he is “really happy after the end of this week.”
“I’m looking at the board all day, not looking for me. I’m looking for my guy. It’s really weird. It’s really weird…I don’t feel about the board position, just seeing where our guys are, which is the opposite of what we do every week,” Bradley said. “I’ll be very happy after this week. I’ve used it all, so I’m ready to figure out what we’re doing and bring our team together.”
Despite these feelings, Bradley was under 64 on Friday to compete for the weekend’s Tour Championship.
Bradley Mulls is the captain of the Ryder Cup
But, as mentioned earlier, the most difficult aspect of Captain Bradley is whether he should spend one of his captain’s draft picks on himself.
On Friday, Bradley explained that he was “very aware” that his decision would be “controversial” no matter which direction he went, and that the final judgment would depend on whether the United States won the Cup or suffered a devastating defeat against Europe on the ground.
“You worry that people might say, if you don’t win, that’s wrong. My age, they have to do that.

He continued: “Usually, when you win, you are the best captain ever. When you lose, you are the worst captain. So I’ve always been a part of these teams and I promise you will make the best decision for the team. It’s going to be a controversial thing I do.”
If his name does belong to the team’s six players next week, Bradley explained that it would only be because he and his vice captain objectively considered all the data and determined that he would help the team.
“I think we have to get together as captains and deputys, look at the data, make decisions based on the best choice for the team. So, that certainly feels good for me. But when we see me as a player… we look at the statistics, we look at everything, we see everything, but I definitely expressed that stuff to them. He said.
But Bradley isn’t too modest to make a subtle reason for himself, saying, “Honestly, I feel like I’m still one of the best players in the world, so I think the chances of me getting rid of this picture completely may be slim.”
Despite all the complications, Bradley knew what his registration was and he knew how important his choice was.
“I’m ready,” Bradley said. “I know this is the biggest decision in my life.”
