Tiger is calling for left-handed Drew SommersEvan Petzold, who reported on the Detroit Free Press. Detroit will need to open space for him on the roster of initiative and 40 people.
Sommers, 25, is the 11th round draft pick in 2022. Mason Englert round trip. Sommers is a pure reliefist that doesn’t cause much prospect hype, but he continues to raise a lot of numbers among minors. Overall, he hit 154 minor league innings with an average run of 3.10. His 29.8% strikeout rate and 7.1% walk rate are both good numbers, and he also gets a lot of ground balls.
This includes this year. Since introducing the Tigers in this trade, he has thrown 57 innings, splitting between Double-A and Triple-A. He has an ERA of 2.53, strikeout rate of 27.8%, walk rate of 7% and 63.8% ground ball rate.
Now, he will have the opportunity to try to achieve these numbers at the major league level. Tiger currently has Taylor Holden As the only left-handed in the bullpen, Sommers doubled the club’s Southpaw Commatent.
